Psilocybe Zapotecorum “Tlalnelhuayocan” (Mexico Trip 2025) Swab Set

This Psilocybe Zapotecorum genetic line was collected in the municipality of Tlalnelhuayocan, in the state of Veracruz, Mexico, just 2 kilometers from the state capital, Xalapa. The area lies along the Mexico City–Veracruz railway and is accessible via Federal Highways 180 and 125.

Tlalnelhuayocan is known for its varied terrain, cloud forest influence, and rich biodiversity—factors that contribute to ideal conditions for wild fungi, including Psilocybe species. This specific collection was made within the central municipality of Tlalnelhuayocan itself.

Historically referred to as San Andrés Tlalnelhuayocan, the area has deep Nahuatl roots and cultural ties to neighboring regions such as Jilotepec. The local climate and forested ecosystems offer unique conditions that may contribute to the distinct traits observed in this genetic line.
