A compound microscope is the instrument spore work actually needs: light passes through a thin sample on a slide, and the objectives take you from finding the field to resolving the spore wall. This one is a monocular student model running 40X to 1000X with all-glass optics.
The three magnifications that matter: 100X to locate spores and judge how dense your drop is, 400X as the working magnification for shape and size, and 1000X with oil for the wall and the germ pore. A Psilocybe cubensis spore is roughly 11 to 17 micrometres long, which sits comfortably inside that range.
Supplied as an AmScope unit. The photograph shown is an illustrative stock image of a compound microscope, not the exact model; ask us for a photograph of the unit before ordering if that matters to you.
Supplied for microscopy, taxonomy and research use. 18+ only.
