Z Strain Spores: Syringes, Prints & Isolates
Z Strain is a classic Psilocybe cubensis multispore, in circulation since at least the early 2000s and known among growers as a fast, vigorous line, which is where most of its reputation comes from. The origin is unclear: it has been linked to various sources on the forums over the years, but none is documented.
It is a reliable microscopy subject, with a dense purple-brown print and subellipsoid spores about 11 to 17 by 7 to 10 micrometres. Z Strain is sold mainly as multispore syringes and prints, and because it has been reproduced from multispore for a long time, lines differ a little between vendors. Check the label for the generation and whether it is an isolate.
